Well if you don't believe it is must not be true. I think complaints about the NBA ball are pretty common.

I thought there was something seriously off about Shabazz's shot in summer league. Maybe it was the ball.

Yes I am a genius. But seriously I saw guys who aren't half as good at shooting shoot much better in the summer league. If he's really having this much of a hard time that he feels the need to tell a reporter, then that's a bad sign.

He's a smart kid and he'll be fine, summer league means nothing. He just has post college hangover- being an adult, paying bills, making your own schedule, no homework. I think he will be ok with all his millions.

Same thing with NFL footballs. They're super slick and hard to grip

Truth. The college ball is narrower too. If the pros played with the college ball, receivers would literally break their hands on a daily basis. QBs would be throwing missiles.

I love Bazz, but this has to be one of the lamest excuses I've ever heard of.

As a point guard, he handles 'the ball' more than other teammates. It's probably not be an excuse but a reason. Let's just hope it doesn't become physiological.

However he's got to figure it out soon. So it may sound strange but take it wherever you go, bounce it wherever you go, and sleep with it if you must. The ball has to become an extension of his hand for his point guard trade. Too much riding on this, basketball wise, for him.

We all know if anyone can adjust its him.

I think folks are overreacting a bit. This isn't a quote after a bad summer league game or from the regular season. This is a quote about what he's doing in workouts and what adjustments he's making now during a dead period to get ready for preseason camp. The writer put it in context of his summer league struggles, but Bazz didn't seem to be discussing that directly.

This is a common thing that springs up in soccer when a new ball is introduced so I'm probably more used to it being a talking point.

Just talk him through it.

I don't have a lot of time for anything indepth but one thought about Bazz - Last year, from a player's perspective, Bazz was in a zone filled with confidence. He made baskets when he did not even see a basket - and rained 3 s like layups at crunch time etc. Everything was muscle memory and instinctive touch and fell. In short, with the NBA ball he doesn't have that special thing going. Hopefully it will come but may take awhile. It's both physical and mental.
