Welp, a W is a W. Ugly and not impressive. Brock's defense is a mess. It lacks quality starters on the D Line and there doesn't appear to be much depth. Once the D Line is gassed teams can move the ball at will against the Huskies. A private sit down and ass chewing by Mora towards Brock is appropriate. Offensively, it was Jimmy and Joe better than X's and O's. Edwards was better than any Ball St defender and the best plays Sammis called were hand offs to Edwards. Kudos to Mora for growing a set and realizing he can't depend on his defense to stop anyone. 5-5 on fourth down was the difference in the game extending drives and leading to scores. I'd like to see Mora bring in someone to sit down with Sammis to discuss drawing up better plays inside the 5 yard line. Another clean game overall from UConn with no turnovers. The back breaker 4th down play by Ball St. was absolutely made possible by a no call on holding in the backfield as Kelly scrabmled to his right. Refs make that call and it was game over. 2-2 and it seems like this team is a disaster. They go to Buffalo next where Troy just punch Buffalo in the mouth in upstate NY. A third of the way through the season and there is a lack of any identity on defense. Offensive identity should be to get the ball to Edwards or Bell every play. Today is was 24 carries for Edwards and 14 catches for Bell. That was 38 of the 67 offensive plays.
