ANDRE JACKSON, UCONN

Andre Jackson is one of the most explosive athletes in all of college basketball and he made a significant jump between his freshman and sophomore seasons. At 6-foot-6, he has positional size that translates and a ton of potential on the defensive end of the floor where he’s switchable and able to erase mistakes with his burst. He’s an excellent perimeter rebounder and a much better passer than most people realize, even if the metrics don’t yet bare it out. The Achilles heel has always been the three-point shot, which had glaring mechanical deficiencies along with obvious poor statistics to match from high school through his first year at UConn. That started to change this year though as he knocked down 36% and averaged 0.7 makes per game (up from 11.8% and 0.1 as a freshman). He should have a significant opportunity next year, so if he can take the next step forward overall offensively and even sustain those shooting numbers, it should resonate with scouts.

If he fixes his shooting mechanics he's an easy first round pick with lottery upsides - it's that simple (in theory, not in practice).

Jackson has the widest variance of maybe any player in the country, if he shows no improvement he is a role player who can occasionally take over games for a bit, if he improves modestly he is an above average big east player, and if he really figures out his shot and how to take it to the hoop the sky is the limit and he could be an all American.... Not saying he gets there but it is theoretically possible

He needs to fix his shooting mechanics in practice, not in theory.
Agreed, I was saying it's easier for a keyboard warrior like me to say "all he has to do is fix his jumper" than it is to actually fix his jumper in one offseason
