ANDRE JACKSON, UCONN
Andre Jackson is one of the most explosive athletes in all of college basketball and he made a significant jump between his freshman and sophomore seasons. At 6-foot-6, he has positional size that translates and a ton of potential on the defensive end of the floor where he’s switchable and able to erase mistakes with his burst. He’s an excellent perimeter rebounder and a much better passer than most people realize, even if the metrics don’t yet bare it out. The Achilles heel has always been the three-point shot, which had glaring mechanical deficiencies along with obvious poor statistics to match from high school through his first year at UConn. That started to change this year though as he knocked down 36% and averaged 0.7 makes per game (up from 11.8% and 0.1 as a freshman). He should have a significant opportunity next year, so if he can take the next step forward overall offensively and even sustain those shooting numbers, it should resonate with scouts.Back to School: 10 players whose NBA stock could improve next season
