I really like college football (other sports too, but mostly college football) and outdoors stuff--hiking, mountain biking, etc. So cities like Los Angeles or Miami aren't really what I'm looking for, but I'm trying to figure out where might be a good spot.

So far, I've come up with only a few ideas. One is going to Georgia to see a big UGA game against an SEC rival and then to hike/bike in the north Georgia mountains. Another could be Austin, TX. Not as great of an outdoors scene I don't think, but I know there's some decent biking, and would be cool to see UT and the city has a great reputation. Besides that, Seattle could be a possibility. Cool city and UW is supposed to have a good team this year and a beautiful stadium. Finally, I could do Roanoke, VA and then hit up a Va Tech game, as Lane Stadium is supposed to be great. These are my only ideas. Maybe Boulder/Denver and see CU, even though they suck

If you go to New Orleans for the weekend when there is a good LSU game like Florida you can have the best of both worlds. Baton Rouge is less than an hour away and New Orleans will be teeming with fans from both schools; you can go to the game and get the full game experience and stay in New Orleans so you have a great city for a bachelor party.

ETA: I overlooked the hiking/biking stuff. There is certainly a ton of outdoors stuff in the area as well, but the only things I've done myself are fishing and a swamp tour, both of which were excellent.

Clemson is very close to a ton of national forest area that is supposed to be great hiking, biking, etc.

Find a ski mt in the off season. Great deal and amazing views

Tahoe. Amazing hiking, biking, golf, boating, beaches, casinos, CAHusky. You could catch a university of Nevada football game but that’s obviously a big step down from some of the other teams you’re considering. Summer isn’t really offseason here though.

LA is surrounded by some of the best biking and hiking within an hours drive in any direction. Obviously you can find a football game - perfect reason to visit the Rose Bowl. Even Las Vegas has some amazing hiking not far from the city. Look up Mr Charleston. 35 miles from Vegas and almost 12,000 ft in elevation. There's also Red Rock Canyon and my personal favorite Valley of Fire. Not sure if you'll find the football you want there, however.

This is a good suggestion. I didn't realize Clemson was that far west in South Carolina! It's actually not far from Asheville, NC and the Blue Ridge Mtns. Could do something with that

Florida/uga game is largest outdoor cocktail party in Jacksonville

Nashville is tons of fun and cool city and if you don't mind driving 2-3 hours you can catch a Tennessee game and hit up the i think the blue ridge mountains

New Orleans is awesome but no hiking

Listen to 8893 and go to New Orleans. Your bachelor party shouldn't be for riding a bicycle.

Id consider New Orleans, but my last (and only) time in Louisiana was an absolute nightmare. Cut short my stay before New Orleans, only saw Baton Rouge. Was in a car whose brakes failed during a rain storm and sailed thru an intersection hitting a box truck for a moving company. The driver had an AK 47 tattooed on his forearm and weighed like 350, threatening me to not report the accident. Sucked.

You're not going to want to go to a place like Clemson in the absolute sticks unless you have a friend who lives there. I probably had my best experience in college at a Clemson Miami football game but I wouldn't go down there with a bunch of Yankee friends and no connections.

Being of a certain age - I have recently been on bachelor parties in Austin, New Orleans, Scottsdale and Charleston. Austin was the winner in a landslide. Best food, best bars, best culture, best "nightclubs" etc.

Really on Austin? It was a place I've been meaning to go but my chef friend who moved down there didn't like it at all, says it's all hipsters and bbq. He kind of soured me on visiting. A couple friends who visited him didn't think much of it either but I've heard great things from other people. I do find it really hard to believe they have better culture and food than New Orleans though.

To be honest, the idea that Austin has a better culture is laughable. I got a little excited and that is a very bad take. BBQ is my favorite food. And Tex-Mex. I had the best in my life of both in Austin.

I've heard Baton Rouge sucks. New Orleans seems to have about the friendliest people anywhere from what I've experienced.

I cant over emphasize how much it sucked. I can enjoy most all places, but Baton Rouge had basically no redeeming qualities. Tiger Stadium was unreal though

The answer is San Francisco. Go see Cal host Stanford or vice versa for your football fix depending on the year. Huge rivalry game and both are beautiful campuses.

You sound like a serious bike/hike guy. Bike across the Golden Gate bridge (awe inspiring and football season is sun season in SF) and 17 miles later Mt. Tamalpais will give you all the hike and bike you want. Find Stinson Beach at the bottom for a NoCal blast back in time. Mt. Tam is a serious ascent and decline so beware. But plenty of hike/bike all over.

Then you are in a world class city in every respect. Food, music, bars (god forbid at a bachelor weekend).

Surfer? Check.
Sailing? Check.

Can't miss destination.

Frenchmen is great. But there are some amazing dive bars with the best NO swing jazz.
Yep. They are easy to find, too. But always by cab/Lyft and not walking.

St. Claude neighborhood, Bullit’s, (7th Ward?), Bywater and lots of others

Frenchmen now is actually almost as overrun as Bourbon during busy times.

This was another thought. Would be cool to see Stanford. Need to see how expensive it would be--a west coast trip may make some of my close friends unable to go

You think at all about going out of the country? Mexico and Central America have some awesome places to visit with a ton of hiking/natural beauty and it would be significantly cheaper than San Fran.
