It was announced that Ayanna Paterson has shoulder surgery on Monday and is out for the season

Sending Yanna all the best for a speedy, safe, strong recovery. Can't wait to have her supportive, enthusiastic presence back on the sidelines soon. I really hope she gets back to 100% so she can show her full potential in the 2025–2026 season. I can't imagine how much frustration these young athletes must face when dealing with a series of injuries, but she's made of strong stuff. You got this, Yanna!

Least surprising news. When her shoulder was immobilized like it was the chance of her returning became exceedingly unlikely. Tough road for her to miss two full seasons in a row due to injury. One is hard enough to be two years removed that’s a tall task for anyone.

Good article. I did not know that Ayanna was blind in her right eye before. Maggie has done a great job covering Uconn WBB.

So disappointing. I was always looking forward to Yanna dunking in a game. I hope her rehab goes smoothly.

So awful for her. She must be terribly disappointed. Hard to understand how a player who is so athletic and physically strong could suffer such a string of contact injuries. I just hope she's healthy and happy as i wonder if, like Carol, we will ever see Ayanna play basketball at UCONN.

I think Yanna will return at some point. She is too determined to play and won't throw it all away. Carol on the other hand, well, her health comes first. And if she spends the rest of her time at UConn sitting on the bench, cheering on her teammates and getting her degree, I have no problem with that.
