Way too early but seeing M Smith out there, he looked like Hassan 2.0. Better from 3, maybe not as good of a defender but very close. Good with the ball.
Im going Smith for big east 6th man of the year.
We seem to win that one quite regularly.

Which of our guys get some other accolades?

Mullins? FOY
AK=AA?

I feel like if our year goes the way we want it to, it would naturally result in all conference on some level for 6 total guys:

Karaban: anything from 2nd team to POTY
Reed: “”
Ball: 1st or 2nd team
Demary: “”
Smith: 6th man of the year
Mullins: freshman of the year (guaranteed all-freshman team at least)

Who are the other FOY candidates? Is there a newcomer of the year too that includes transfers?
People are high on Acaden Lewis (including our staff and other blue bloods) his first move and handle are crazy good.
Also Greer on Creighton but it seems he is having trouble adjusting. I think Mullins should be heavy favorite

It would be incredible to have Karaban be an AA this year, but if Karaban is our best player then I think that's actually a bad thing. Karaban thrives in a complimentary role. We saw what happened last year when he was supposed to be the alpha. The ball shouldn't be in his hands at the end of a shot clock. That's Demary's job now.

Also Greer on Creighton. I guess Butler is supposed to have a good freshman but I dont know anything about him.
I keep forgetting Acaden is at Nova. It might be another Castle vs Whitmore race there.

I'm curious where Alex falls in terms of conference or national awards. His importance and contributions sometimes don't translate to a box score where he can have an "off" statistical game but still be the difference maker in the outcome. I don't think people that don't watch him that closely would credit him for that.

I like where we are at PG so not upset to see him go somewhere else. But you're right. He wont be a welcome sight the few times we have to see him.
