Aubrey Griffin waived by the Minnesota Lynx.

Aubrey is very athletic but can't shoot. At 6'1" unless you have the skill set of Aneesa Morrow your not going to play forward in the W

Love Aubrey. Someone mentioned another direction. That's not a bad thing. Professional athlete, pretty nomadic life. It's a big world.

There are more than 300 division 1 schools, there are less than 20 WNBA teams. Even good-very good players are weeded out. Just do the math.

I thought part of the new bargaining agreement was the establishment of a developmental league for the WNBA, like the G league for the NBA. Did any one else hear that?
Update: WNBA Official Development Players: Separately, the 2026 WNBA CBA introduced official "development players," allowing teams to carry up to two additional young players (0-3 years experience) beyond the standard 12-player roster.

Additionally,
The UpShot League (often stylized as UPSHOT or Upshot) is a professional women's basketball league in the United States. Former WNBA president Donna Orender serves as the commissioner of the league.
The league is scheduled to begin play on May 15, 2026, with four inaugural teams. The UpShot League's regular-season schedule will consist of 34 games, including 17 at home and 17 on the road. The league has announced plans to hold a player draft following the 2027 WNBA draft.a>

😁 In a night to remember at the Barclay's Center, about 25 miles from her hometown, Aubrey G made her WNBA debut off the bench scoring 2 points in 5 min in a Liberty win.

Not too far away in Toronto, Lauren Betts made her debut for the Mystics scoring 0 points in 12 minutes.

This means nothing in the long term, but strange things happen in the early careers of WNBA players. Perhaps Aubrey can convert her short term contract to a development slot somewhere.

We were at the game and thrilled that Aubrey got to play. She was her slashing, but deferential self on offense, looked good on defense away from the basket, but, when in rebounding position, she would get overwhelmed by Morrow (perhaps because the refs - who were horrible last night - decided that going over the back was not a foul) even with a good box out.
Just such a joyous moment when Aubrey scored her basket and many in attendance leapt to their feet!
