[QUOTE="CONNCAN, post: 4518282, member: 12272"] I believe that the differential "TODAY" between Maddy and Aubrey, is that Maddy, a truly great High School Player in the State of New York at Our Lady of Lourdes HS in Poughkeepsie, New York in Section One, went on to a program at Villanova, who was looking for someone to take charge and lead, with the freedom to do so,right from the start, as a Freshman. Today, we have seen the player and athlete that Maddy has become. Whereas, Aubrey, coming out of an Historical High School career at Ossining High School, within Section One in New York (the same State Section as Maddy Siegrist played in) joined a program at UCONN, that was well established, and was simply looking for Aubrey to "Fit In", learn the program, and develop as a player the way that Geno wants and expects his new players to do so. As with many many Freshman, who come to UCONN, learning and becoming a key part of the program "Takes Time", and with Aubrey, it certainly wasn't easy, but she showed signs of becoming the player that Geno recruited. Then COVID-19 hit, which slowed Aubrey's progress. Then, injuries hit Aubrey hard, with leg issue and then of course, the Major Back Surgery, which shut down AG all of last year. It is just now, that we all are beginning to see the player that Geno, CD, and the Coaching Staff knew that they were getting in Aubrey. "The Gazelle" of UCONN, a player who is probably one of the best true "Athletes" to come to the UCONN WBB Program in quite some time, and who is just now, having her basketball skills catching up to her Athletic Skills. YES, Maddy Siegrist, much to the chagrin of Ossining HS Coach Dan Ricci, has now "Settled The Debate" at this point in their Collegiate Careers, with Maddy going on to what will be a stellar WNBA career, but with the script not yet finished for Aubrey, who still has allot of "Her Story" to write, and to which a National Championship is much still in the cards.
