Here is the last 7 years of Conference attendance. Surprise, surprise, surprise-the AAC was 4th!!! I wonder who drives that attendance? ;)
I was a bit surprised that the BigTen led the way by the slimmest of margins over, also a surprise, the Big12! I would have thought for sure it was the SEC given how wonderful their support is, especially on here but alas, they are 3rd. Also a surprise was the vaunted ACC that even with top 6 programs in attendance of ND and Louisville, the ACC as whole is 6th. I mean, what the heck??? Take a look and let's have at it. I highlighted and underscored the AAC and Big East. So for all of us that are touting the great move back to the Big East (me included), the conference has A LOT TO DO to get fans.

Thanks, for the chart. Surprised and disappointed I thought attendance was much better than shown. Guess all the conferences need to do work getting FANS IN THE STANDS!

Sabrina Ionescu has turned Oregon women’s games into a hot ticket, but the Ducks aren’t the only team seeing a boost in popularity
Good thing she isn't a "generational player"... :) :) :)

Attendance is each teams HOME games, included conference and out of conference games.

The 2019-2020 attendance has not been posted yet.

19/20 attendance is posted on the NCAA stats page, extended stats-misc reports: I sorted it by conference and calculated the average for the top 6 and Big East. I also recomputed the average specifically for the 1st 4 years of the 8 years and the last 4 years which is how I ordered the list. I then calculated the % change. Big 10/SEC/Big12 are all similar in average as SEC increased 17% last 4 years over the previous 4. Pac12 had the biggest recent increase (48%) with ACC 5th, but increase 24%. AAC saw a decrease of 20%., but that seems mostly driven by the high attendance 2013/14 UConn's 1st season in the AAC coming of a NC. I am sure next year will bring the Big East way up and AAC way down,

Here's the spreadsheet.

12-13 UConn was still in the Big East
Yes good point. 12/13 was more competitive in the AAC conference without UConn so more folks attended except for 13/14 whcih had a big increase in the AAC since that was UConn's 1st year in the conference and the other team's were curious as well as UConn's added home attendance. That's why I posted the consecutive 4 year averages when I got the 19/20 attendance and it showed a 20% drop over those 4 years. In fact the last 6 years averaged in the AAC 2,171 even with UConn.

Still I think the attendance story of the PAC12, ACC, & SEC conference increases shows how WBB is getting more popular and competitive conferences help a lot. Big12 dominated by Baylor has seen a drop off as has AAC dominated by UConn.
