UCONN heaven, with 5 UCONN superstars on the floor (and 7 2016 Olympians if you include Japan, Serbia and Australia). Mercury clinched a playoff spot before the game started, with Washington's loss, so they don't 'need it.' But they're absolutely killing the Storm.

Halftime now. Stewie and KML lead the Storm with 8 points each, and 1 assist, no blocks and no steals between them. Sue hasn't scored and has 1 assist :( Penny's last regular season home game so she's getting a lot of love.

KML should start this game. She played 11 mins and has 8 pts so far.

KML has played a lot - looks good from outside, not so good mixing it up inside

Penny just came out for her final curtain call in PHX. Nobody paying any attention to the game as DT and BG are playing cheerleader - basically inciting a riot.

Seems to be transitioning to BG's team since the Olympics. She is probably averaging close to 20 points since the break.

Sat in 2nd row behind the Mercury bench, so I got an up-close reminder how big BG really is - scary

When I sit near the court, I am reminded about how tall ALL the players are. Maya, for example, looks imposing. I ran into Moriah at the Final Four her freshman year. In flats, she looked like a cute young girl of average height.

I didn't mean it in a 'not nice' way. Just "scary big" (like, "I'm really going to try not to piss you off" big). Very impressive human being.
My wife presented an award from the Rutgers fan club to Tammy Sutton Brown her senior year. My wife at 5' max, Tammy at 6'5" or so. Yikes.

I have rarely found height itself so over-whelming, until I was walking and passed Anne Donovan in the RAC.

As to WBB players in general, the first year we were following Rutgers at all (TG's last year) we went to the A10 tourney and I got run into by a St. Bonaventure player who was leaving the ladies room as I was leaving the men's room. I bounced off of her. Solid was not the word. And none of it fat, I'll add.

I was really hoping that Phoenix would miss the playoffs so that they could be in the draft lottery. They already need a good PG and with Taylor leaving, and quite frankly, my doubt that DT will return, put them really short handed at the guard position in general. They could really use a good, young PG like Allen or Jones.

Brondello's husband kind of looks like a leprechaun to me.
I think the guy on the Mercury sideline in my pic is Todd Troxel, assistant coach. He does look like a leprechaun next to BG though (Hey, I'm 6'0"-195, and I feel very leprechaun-like up next to BG too).

Although Sandy's hubby (Olaf Lange) was her assistant in San Antonio (and she is his assistant in Ekaterinaburg) I don't believe he is on staff in Phoenix.

Olaf Lange (aka Mike Meyers)

He seems more dweeb-like than leprechaun-like, though...

Haha. Bonner is so thin you wonder how she has the muscles to do that stuff.

I didn't get a good shot of Griner, looking straight up at her. I wouldn't want to get caught by an elbow though...

Maybe they trade Bone to SA for Robinson.

That would be a great trade for Phoenix and would also help SA. SA needs a good center and I don't see any players in the 2016 draft that are going to come in and really make a difference immediately.
