The Jacks overcame significant injuries that rival the Huskies to beat Eastern Washington 61 to 55. In the battle of point guards my first observation is that was clear how important these fifth year seniors are to their teams. When Jamie and Regan got a breather on the bench any semblance of offensive productivity evaporated. As the score indicates this was a game with a premium on buckets and while the Jack's opened with a 22-point quarter and the Eagles responded with a 20-point second quarter as each point guard hit the bench the offense ground to a halt. That said in the battle of point guards Regan clearly prevailed. Jamie's ASU offensive training showed, she was 0 for 10 from the floor. Regan had to pick up scoring with leading scorer Montana Oltrogge unavailable and freshman sensation Sophie Glancey limited due to injuries to both hands. Regan responded with 20 points to go with her two rebounds and four assists. Reagan however did have an eye-opening 8 turnovers mostly due to Jamie's tremendous on ball defense. Currently in second place the Jacks control their own destiny to a first round by in the conference tournament. With that said it'll be very difficult for the Jacks to win out with their current injury situation. Tomorrow's game at 1:00 p.m. is the final home game of the season against Idaho. Unfortunately this game conflicts with the 12:30 Husky Villanova game so unless the Jacks go into double overtime or the Huskies dispose of the Wildcats in record time I'll miss this game. The Jacks end the season on the road against Northern Colorado and doormat Weber State. One note of interest Reagan Schenck sits at 192 assists on the season so she will surely top the 200 mark. As I indicated in a previous post Regan is the all-time assist leader at NAU currently standing at 654.
