That would not suck.

Now the real debate- more hilariously characteristic pic of Geno? This:

That is some good stuff, but nothing we really didn't already know. UCONN "could" land 6 players from the class if they don't get Erica but they also "could" only land 1 (not saying they will). It's not like the article says we lead for any of those kids or that the kids really really like UCONN. So all we can do is speculate at this point and hope that getting in with so many this early will eliminate some of the recruiting "shortsightedness" from 2012 and 2013...

3 of those 6 plus Ekmark would be really nice.

Is there any news on Calhoun? Did she interact with the women's team at First Night? I re-read her HG write-up last night. She sounds really, really good.

Note the statement that the 2014 class is superior to the 2013 class. We need to load up.

Good question. One has to wonder why Ekmark has already received an offer and verbaled, but Calhoun comes to first night, has been to campus numerous times, has a brother on the men's team, but still no offer to her from Geno? Just a guess but for some reason it appears the coaches are not interested in her. IMHO they made the same mistake with Holmes.

I agree with UConnfan1. Based on the lack of specific information you could substitute any university's name for UConn's and it'd all be true. Unless, of course, the writer actually knows that UConn has a lead in recruiting one, two or three of the top six, which does not seem possible.

If the writer is saying that based on UConn's needs, reputation and graduating players, it would be a logical choice for top-notch players who want playing time and all the advantages that playing for Geno will give them, the writer should have said that.

I agree with the above. In fact, that ASGR piece was a really frustrating article. Only two ways to parse it: Nothing in it supports the premise, so citing UConn simply gains more eyeball share than any alternative. Fair enough. Or, the writer knows something he/she isn't telling us. I hope the latter, but any way you slice it, it is a mystery.

I imagine the writer wanted to phrase it to get hits and discussion. Still, it's encouraging that we are looking at so many top kids so early in the process.

Just thinking about the Ekmark / Calhoun comparison stated earlier. I don't claim to know much about Calhoun except she seems to be a pretty damn good player, and her brother won the dunk contest first night, didn't he ?
I do believe that Courtney Ekmark is a can't miss type of player, who will go on to become an all time UCONN great. I don't know this for sure, who does, but I just believe she knows who she is, knows what she wants, and that she, Geno, and UCONN can all get there together. I think she is mature beyond her years. Geno usually never recruits players THAT far out, but he saw something too, and did not hesitate.
As everyone knows her Dad is her coach. They won the mythical high school National Championship going undefeated and beating some pretty impressive teams on the way. She can score anyway from anywhere, and her fudamentals are college ready. Can't wait to see her in 2014.

SLIM - you seem to be on the verge of challenging ERIC for the Enthusiasm/Optimism crown. Here's a tip of the cap for your courage, but he might pin you in the first 35 seconds or so. Be forewarned, Grasshopper. ;)

Actually, I'm pretty sure Tony is the King of Optimism, but it's hard not to see the glass mostly full for the next 3-4 years...

Thanks Eric. Uconn is in position for a couple of those kids. We will have an opening for at least one big if not two and we will need a couple of guards. Wilson sounds like a version of Breanna. Can you imagine those bookends. UConn is going to be very hard to beat over the next 4 years. Think about how many AAs they will have. Teams hope to have one 1st team AA. At UConn we could have a bunch of 1st team AAs over the next 4 years. It is possible next season to see, Bria, Breanna, Morgan KML MJ all possible 1st team at some point.

ERIC: sure didn't intentionally leave TONY out on thata....in fact, my own cotton brain was struggling to recall the other guy I had wanted to mention with you as a tag team to remove SLIM's ears on the mat. Should have been a lay-up as Tony is the equal of anyone on here re enthusiasm and optimism........but then, I was never so hot at lay-ups, come to think of it. Apologies, Tony.

Coach Winlots, I want to thank you for your expertise on WCBB and RASSLING, as they say down here in my beloved South. But tell me please ... How do I go from being a King of Optimism to getting my ears pinned to the mat. lol.

Can you tell me ?

I sure will be glad to see the season start so you can get your Ya Ya's out. You got too much time on your hands. Go wrestle one of your patients. It will be very therapeutic, for him and YOU ! LOL

It is very disconcerting that eric is this optimistic. It is kind of like a shift in the magnetic poles.;)

A shift in the magnetic poles would be VERY disconcerting and diminish dramatically the optiminism Eric is expressing;)

Short of that shift:eek:,having 5 potential ist team AAs in 2012 and 2013,4 in 2014,3 in 2015 is reason to be abit giddy:) This just includes those currently on the roster:cool:

The "potential" of adding a monster class entering in 2014 has my glass over flowing! Of course I remain on my meds:)

Eric acknowledges, as I do, that Tony is the "King of Optimism"! Tony,;) does have reason,IMHO, to be "optimistic" w/o being placed on a 72 hour hold;)

Everything I've read and heard says no, she has not received a scholly offer at this point. I have no idea if the staff is really interested in her or not. As was noted, she's been to campus, been to first night, and the coaches have seen her play. I get that they may have other players they feel are a higher priority, but I'd hate to see this turn into another Bria Holmes situation...

Sorry Eric, but that does not satisfy me("Everything I've read and heard says "). To then assume, and build on that, "I get that they may have other players they feel are a higher priority" satifies me even less.

Just my take.
