...Natalie had a heck of a game.

See the per-40-min numbers here.

Our latest addition to the rotation came within 2 RB of a double-double and had the best FG % for the night.

Additionally, she grabbed the per-40 honors for:
FGM, OR, DR, TR, BLK, ST!, PTS and BRATS.
I'm down with that for a first effort, how 'bout you?

Stay healthy Saniya! Give us more of that!

If Saniya stays healthy, she is right on track for a great year. I think the jury is out on Natalie until the South Carolina game.

Why would one game, in the future--over a month away, define Natalie or anyone. Obviously, it's impossible to say how well Ms Butler may do against greater talent, true. But she showed her stuff around the basket, in defense and scoring, and against swarming little guys. The quick turnaround shot from the foul line is no fluke--she did it easily. She proved she was a good maybe better teammate and with Stewie, Tuck, Katie Lou working the down low line against opponents--if she is only 1/4th as good as we saw--that will be a huge help over what we now have against big and/or heavy front lines. Think of what may have been had she been used against MD's Jones. Taking the pressure off of Stewie and Tuck on the blocks almost without regard to her scoring is big for Uconn. But we shall see what we shall see.
I absolutely agree with your comment on Ms Chong--if she is healthy, the rest of this ride will be great. She too will reduce the attraction to Stewie and Tuck for opponents.

I think maybe Henry Fonda needs a little more time?

Katie Lou working down low? Seriously, isn't lack of same what is keeping her from seeing more playing time?

You are at this point in time---absolutely correct without question. However, I see the potential in that happening before the NCAA's
Her size is needed and Geno, if you watch where Katie Lou has been playing on D--it's basically two place --at the top of the 3 point arc
and down to the right or left of the basket--so I assume (making an ass of me) Geno is putting her there for experience.
Interesting the things you see, if you look for them

Geno is rigid in some aspects of the game--but when he has talent, or size, or athleticism, or precise skills---he finds a way to use them.
Geno is aware of the Limitation, and skills, of Katie Lou---his keeping her out of the game at Cinic until the second half was a minor butt kicking---what he want's is not so much terrific defensive skills --he wants her to play with enthusiasm, gusto and to attack the basket and find different ways to help her team. Katie was the star in HS and everything came to her--not much effort required. But at Uconn you put forth effort or you sit regardless of how big a star or recruit you WERE.

Not to quibble, but every player on the UConn team was the star in high school.

Yes but do you think Natalie can play at UCONN? She played at Georgetown so her great stats there aren't as good as the best HS players!
