Weak. We were camped out 3 days before the Pitt gameday until they made us go home because it was below zero with the wind chill. Guess the kids really are smarter these days

I was fully prepared to be at gampel starting on Monday for this game. But since they lost a few games, there's no need since the other students don't have faith.

Are you there now? Good for you, keep up the tradition. And I know what you're talking about with the commitment level of your peers

Pardon my ignorance, but don't students with season tickets get into this game anyway? Do they block off another set of tickets for students without them?

It's not for the game, it's for ESPN's GameDay which starts at I believe 8 AM Saturday.

It's not for tickets it's for seating, namely the front few rows. Gotta camp out if you want that honor

I dont understand why you would camp out for this... I have been front/second row for every Gampel game this year and a decent amount last year. Anyways, the line for the GAME starts tomorrow at 2pm. I have no idea how that is going to be handled. I imagine there will be a few hundred just hovering around Gampel from 12 (after Gameday) till 2.

I think it's stupid to camp out. That's why I love it! I'm in my 40's. Students are supposed to do things I think are stupid. Good luck. If I lived anywhere near Storrs I'd drop off coffee and donuts (is Sugar Shack still there?).

I burned a few couches in my day (controlled "bonfires" in the Jungle Quad, not the riot stuff). That was stupid too. But I still talk about it with a smile.

FYI at the first Gameday against Pitt what they did was give everyone at Gameday a numbered wristband to get back in line numerically a few hours before the game. I don't believe they announced that but I gotta believe they would do the same this year to reward the die-hards. It was hectic getting everyone in line but actually worked out pretty well

Technically were only camping out for game day now, but we have made it very clear we will not go to game day if we wont have these spots for the game. Screaming at a camera for a few guys talking isn't as fun as a huge basketball game for the team

See that is what confuses me. I wish the Uni made it more clear what the situation was, because the email said it was ONLY for Gameday. I camped out for front row against ND last year on Senior Day and had a decent time. I woulda done the same tonight had I known, oh well.

There's no chance anyone here is camping out for ONLY gameday. I got here at 6:30 AM. If someone tries to take my front row seats it probably won't end well for anyone involved.

My big question is what did they think was gonna happen if people followed the 2 PM rule for lining up for the game? Like 300 kids would all show up at once. I don't get how that's in any way better than camping out.

What's the allure about Gameday? Sounds and looks boring as hell.

I was at those bonfires too! I lived in litchfield dorm from '89 to '91 when winning was a relatively new phenomenon.

You don't think the campouts make sense, you think the students are whiny and you prefer the XL center over Gampel. Honestly, just post that anyone under the age of 25 should get off your lawn and we can all move on.

XL atmosphere sucks next to Gampel.
