In case you hadn't seen it yet, here's an article that reviews the reasons why the Sox are so good. The first reason, of course, is soft tissue management.

The Sox in the past have traded away some of their top prospects to fill a short term need.
The Sox traded Carl for Pedro along with prospects. They did so last year, and that's OK. Besides Beckett and Ramirez, they never would have gotten Pedro without trading prospects. There were many folks at the time that were saying the Sox would rue the day they traded Carl Pavano. The trick is to build enough organizational depth which it sounds like the Sox have.
Inglesias may miss the whole year…….makes that trade look good for sure!
Apparently Iglesias has shin splints. http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/1...tigers-least-all-star-break-due-shin-injuriesInglesias may miss the whole year…….makes that trade look good for sure!
