This was my favorite part of the article:

"Evans chose UConn because, well, it's UConn. That's the one thing working in its favor. There's a certain amount of pride, Napier admits, that comes with the uniform."

I hope the team rises up and whoops some ! I would love to see them win the Big East, as a big "middle finger" to the NCAA. Besides, winning the Big East IS AWAYS tougher than winning the NCAA tourney!

I'm sure he was referring to the BE regular season. As far as I know, they are going to allow us to play BE games. The BET is another story, which I'm more p*ssed about than missing the NCAA-T. I think the BE should grant UConn a waiver to play in the BET since the NCAA is not playing nice about this. Where's the conference having our back on this. I don't mean this to turn into why or why not UConn should be allowed to play in the BET. I realize they recently added the rule and there is a chance that an team that is not allowed to play in the NCAA-T could end up winning the BET and prevent the BE from getting the auto-bid, but so be it.

It would be nice if UConn wins the regular season title, but then I'll be ticked off all over again, knowing that if we can do that, we'd be able to do some serious damage in the NCAAs. Oh, well I'm trying not to think about this any more, but it's hard to do when people keep writing and posting about it. It is what it is.

I know. But becoming the second team to win a Big East championship and miss going to the Big Dance doesn't do anything for me.

Yeah, but if it motivates the kids to have a chip on their shoulders and to try to prove something to the rest of the league (and the rest of the country), then I am behind them 100% of the way. My motivation as a fan this coming year is to win the Big East and at the very least to beat the hell out of Pitt and Cuse. If we get a miracle last-minute waiver from the scumbags at the NCAA front office, then I will be ecstatic.

it makes me sick that kids that have done nothing wrong are being punished. id rather see something that suspends the head coach and ad for the season instead. wouldnt go over well but jc was there while the academic issues happened the players were not.
