I can't remember many times an Ansonia player has spurned UCONN. Since the move to D 1, there haven't been many. Tinney, Erik K, and Dobbs were the D 1 Annsonia products and they all committed to UCONN. Ansonia also had some great players when UCONN was in the 1AA ranks, who went to other schools - Steve Coughlin (Stanford) and ROlando Blackmon (San Diego State I believe).

The Division 1 prospects from the valley have consistently committed to UCONN. I am interested to see if Newsome bucks the trend.
