Here are the excuses I've heard:
After the MSU win our threesome got paired up with a guy all dressed in green. An MSU alumn! I should have known it would be trouble but when he saw my UCONN golf shirt announced for all to hear "I can't play with this guy". While waiting to tee off he pummeled me with "You WILL NEVER see a Tom Izzo coached team play that badly blah blah. I listened and then calmly said we are ready to tee off. I added though "By the way I think our defense had a lot more to say about how crappy your team played than Tom Izzo". I birdied the hole BTW! Which resulted in a STFU.

Next I live in Clearwater FL. Gator Country. We had no chance against the Gators blah blah as they were an entirely different team playing at another level "never before seen in college basketball" blah blah. I put that in quotes because that is what was said and while I may have some hearing loss at 62 is what I heard. Played golf with same person today and now he's all about "Scottie Wilbekin was injured" blah blah "his knees were bad" blah blah. My response -same response as with our MSU guy slightly paraphrased "I think our defense had a lot more to say about how bad Scottie Wilbekin's knees felt". Only difference from MSU - I double bogeyed the hole.

Next up KY. So I am in the gym and two young guys see my UCONN tee which of course I have been proudly wearing everywhere I go and they proceed to tell me how if we played KY we would lose 8 or 9 times out of 10 blah blah. All their players were injured blah blah. They also added some stuff about the number of Micky D's they had. I listened and my only response which I admit is weak was, "I would love to see that entire team back next year at KY because I think (I should have said know) that that the result will be the same against our team next year." I expanded to say how little I thought of the twins and of the 2 or 3 Micky D's they had on the BENCH". After thinking about it a little more and a very nice scotch I actually do think next years UCONN team whoever that will be would beat this year's KY team.

All that said if you have any more excuses and good comebacks, I'd love to hear them. Note I also talked to a random guy from Chicago down here today who said he had no idea how good Bazz and Boat were, and that he had seen Boat play in HS.

Been fun down here in Fla.

If we're hearing the excuses, it means we don't have to make them. Love it.

People had all the excuses with Butler about how both teams were undeserving. Well, 3 years later, and you didn't hear a peep about it. Nobody remembers. The only thing they know is that UConn won it's 4th title this year. Not their 3rd and a half.

Yeah, Wilbekin's knees, and Randle's ankles, and Izzo's sweaty face, and Calipari's brain will fade from memory.

There's no excuse for Calipari's brain.
