Of this year's AP final regular season ranking, the following teams failed to make the Sweet Sixteen:

2 Villanova
6 Virginia
9 Iowa St
10 Kansas

During the Coach Calhoun era, the Huskies were ranked in the regular season ending top ten AP a total of 11 times.

How many times did the Huskies fail to make the Sweet Sixteen in these 11 attempts?

Answer: Zero

Here is the breakdown:

National Champion: 3 times
Final Four: 1 time
Elite Eight: 5 times
Lost Sweet Sixteen game: twice


Therefore, I'd say UConn is probably the only team that can say it wins when ranked as a top 10, but also is a great pick to win as a 7 seed.

And, we haven't choked like a lot of other teams in recent tourney history, i.e., Duke, Nova, Arizona, Kansas, Syracuse, Gonzaga.

Nova choked. Iowa st choked. Neither UVA nor Kansas choked. Both got tough matchups. Honestly after watching yesterday I would pick Wichita st to win 6 or 7 times if they played kansas 10 times. Virginias best player broke his hand and hasn't been the same since. And michigan st is coached by izzo. Both teams ran into experienced well coached teams.
