So, despite the "weak schedule" complaints, UConn's schedule now includes one Top 10 opponent (next game) and five more in the current Top 25 (USC #11, Tennessee #15, Iowa #19, Louisville #21, and Notre Dame #24). Not too bad.

I think I'd swap UCLA and SCar.
I would too. I think we are actually a borderline 4/5 team. Texas and LSU haven’t proven anything but they may both be better than us but neither have proved anything - yet.

I definitely question the three first place votes we got. Haven’t looked at those voters yet but my guess would be writers from the homer Greenville. Charlotte and Atlanta papers IF they have votes.

Fullwiley looking like SEC fifth woman again .

I think after UConn it's very arguable who's #2. Right now UConn passes the "eye test" and the "score" test for the number one team, but I think SCAR is a very plausible #2.

Joe Vozzelli - News Gazzette
Khristina Williams - IHeart Radio
Mitchell Notham - WUNC

Also, Alex Simon had UConn 3rd behind UCLA and SC.

I know its early, there have been some rough spots in games, and this team is still finding it's rhythm. But with that considered, so far this team is better in every statistical category (save TOs and FTs) than last year's team. When they find their stride, this team will be a formidalble one, IMO.

As long as everybody is healthy. However, one sprained ankle puts us in peril

To play devil's advocate, South Carolina's 17 point road win over USC looks better than any UCONN win right now. Same for UCLA's big wins over UNC and Oklahoma. But eye test says UCONN looks like the best team so far.

I agree with this. The 2-4 will get sorted out during the Players Era tournament next week. I really think UCLA can win that. I am not a UCLA homer by any means, but they seem to have the most complete team next to UConn.

I agree, though I think that UConn has yet to be battle tested against the size found on the top 5 or so teams.

I think South Carolina has the potential to be the #2 team by the tournament but we don't have the team experience/chemistry yet and that could lead to some issues being exposed during the Players Era tournament. But I expect Coach Staley to get this team prepared to win it all by NCAA tournament time.

UConn and UCLA also have the most continuity from last year to this year, so I am also not surprised that they look more complete starting out the season. This seems to be a season for new beginnings with many traditionally top-tier teams. I expect the gap to narrow as the season progresses.

I don’t know who I’d rank above ND - but man idk how they stayed in there with that showing against Michigan.

It’s been a rough go for the ACC. The portal wasn’t kind to the conference.

I'd put Minnesota, Stanford, South Dakota State and Duke all ahead of Notre Dame after that loss. It's all trivial right now though.

The same Duke that lost to a lower ranked Baylor team and an unranked West Virginia team that had 5 players for a half?

I see your point but Baylor’s top 10 now and West Virginia is in the top 25. Id take either of those losses over a 39 point drubbing to #6 Michigan

I also see yours, however with how Duke has performed to date, I couldn't bump them ahead of ND based on their one loss when Duke struggled the way they have against competitive teams. Granted it was a drubbing, this was ND's only match against a ranked team to date.
