UConn stays at #11. KSU drops 6 spots, Baylor 5, LSU & Indiana 4. USC & Texas up 5 spots, and Oklahoma is back after a 10 week drought.

OTHERS RECEIVING VOTES: UNLV 32, North Carolina 22, Fairfield 21, Mississippi St. 19, Tennessee 3, Florida St. 2, Michigan St. 1, Duke 1.

Conference affiliation really matters in WCBB. A lot of teams are having the chance to improve their resume with good conference teams. UConn needed to go outside their conference and they got a little beat up along the way. The level of play in conference though isn't helping them at all. The only remaining statement game they have left is SC and that might not be the statement they are looking for.

The difference in the votes received between us at #11 (522) and the Golden Domers at #12 (455) kinda surprised me.

Yup. UConn's not moving up or down from here, unless it's to switch places with ND later.

I don't know ... UCLA, and USC are one bad loss from dropping and are only 24/21 points above UConn in the pole, and while KSU is 71 points ahead, they just dropped 326 points in a week after losing to Texas and Oklahoma. I agree that UConn wins are unlikely to move the needle, but other teams faltering could. And of course should ND beat NC State they would probably move up.

Fairfield with more votes than Tennessee! Love it!
Since Tennessee is in second place in the sec, then i guess that Fairfield, if they were in the sec would be nipping at the heels of south carolina.:)

Go Stags, how do we not get them on UCONN schedule?

1. I would root for the Stags, no matter what, so I am not going to pretend this is objective...
2. In their last game vs. Iona 23-2 at the end of Q1
3. This game at Rutgers
4. Meghan Andersen 57-41-91

Go Stags!

Unfortunatley

Unfortunately what you said is so true and isn't it sad that with all the hype given to the "Power" conferences that the number two sport was won by a Big East team. What is even more frightening is that it appears to be getting worse. If the Big Ten and SEC secede from the NCAA let the nightmare begin.

Closing out last week, #2 spot seems to have a jinx on it. Who knows what the voters will do this week, however I've marked the games that may have the greatest impact. Or not. LOL.

#2 Iowa lost to unranked Nebraska
#3 NCSU lost to #16 VA Tech
#4 Colorado lost to #17 Oregon St
#11 UConn lost to #1 SC
#12 ND lost to #15 Louisville
#15 Louisville lost to #3 NCSU and #23 Syracuse
#18 Baylor lost to unranked BYU

#20 Utah lost to #17 Oregon St
#22 WV lost to #18 Baylor

I think any team that lost to a lower ranked team should have the greatest impact. Period.:) Unless the school's name is UConn...
