A few long term streaks will fall this season, I'm afraid.First time since 2005! Oh, the horror!

Meh… The reason they came to Connecticut was to be part of something special. If they wanted a college career without pressure, they could be playing at Division III. I know your post was well intended, but it seems unintentionally disrespectful to me. These are elite athletes who want to compete at the highest level.Maybe we should get rid of all the streaks and records and let the kids just play basketball. There is a lot of pressure placed upon these young ladies
Visitingcock I’m curious about your semi-unbiased opinion. Does that feel like too big a drop to you? Our loss to Louisville was a neutral site loss by less than five points to a higher ranked opponent. Not that it matters one way or another, but I’m curious how a fan of another program would view it.

The pressure comes from donning the UCONN uniform and maintaining the high standard of excellence established by their predecessors. But I doubt any player thinks, in the midst of battle, "Oh dear...we might fall out of the top 10 for the first time in recent memory". I would hope not, anyway! If they are, then their mind isn't on the game.Maybe we should get rid of all the streaks and records and let the kids just play basketball. There is a lot of pressure placed upon these young ladies
I think it's a bit much but not shocking. I'm a pretty big on looking at total SOS and I wonder about some of the teams that jumped you.Visitingcock I’m curious about your semi-unbiased opinion. (Note: I referred to your opinion as “semi-unbiased” because given the time you spend on The Boneyard I know you’re really familiar with the program and I think South Carolina and UConn fans have a considerable amount of respect for each others programs.)
Oh, it’s a neutral site by definition since it’s neither team’s home court. That’s a different thing than a neutral crowd. For what it’s worth, we’ve experienced the non-neutral neutral court on multiple occasions including playing Duke and North Carolina or in plain Michigan State in Micighan.I think it's a bit much but not shocking. Fans of other programs aren't gonna buy the "neutral site" argument though.
And number 20 ND...UConn does not have a signature win this season. Texas beat Stanford and is ranked 12. What has UConn done this season to earn #11 spot, other than past reputation? A win over #18 USF.
