DePaul is getting their clocks cleaned. In the 2nd qtr Dayton is shooting something like 11/13 from 3.
Yea...just not tonight.I mean Dayton’s got to regress a bit to the mean, right? Apparently they usually shoot only about 35% from 3.
Dayton is just overperforming...by a LOT. And Depaul was pretty much shellshocked after that 1st quarter.DePaul probably didn't deserve a bid and it's showing
I mean theyre down 30 to another bubble team with a full quarter left to go....a lot of the blame has to be on DePaul. Can't just chalk it up as Dayton playing well.Dayton is just overperforming...by a LOT. And Depaul was pretty much shellshocked after that 1st quarter.
For starters....the three pt percentage is beyond well. It's an anomaly. And no...Depaul isn't helping matters, but I disagree they don't deserve to be in the tournament based on a single game performance.I mean theyre down 30 to another bubble team with a full quarter left to go....a lot of the blame has to be on DePaul. Why not? Who else came to play? Good experience for her.Morrow padding her stats down 33 with 2 minutes to go. I'm sure we'll hear from the same voices who whined when Bueckers was on the floor in a 20+ point game till the end against ND.

We both know if Bueckers didn't get hurt, or if it were someone else...the critics would have been silent. A player can get hurt at any moment. That's the reality. Having said that, if Morrow got hurt, she had all summer and fall to rehab. If it's irresponsible and dangerous for Bueckers to be on the floor in a 20+ point game until the end, which I heard endlessly after the ND game, then Morrow being on the floor in utter garbage time, padding her stats, is likewise irresponsible and dangerous. The situation doesn't change because one got hurt and one didn't.
So what would you do about teams who have lost to teams not even in the tournament? It's one game, right? Looking at Dayton's resume they haven't beaten any team to this extent...even really bad teams. They don't even score this many points consistently. In other words, their performance last night isn't what they normally do. On the flip side, I doubt Depaul has scored so few points all year. The perfect storm here. It happens. AND...one of their best players has been back like...a week? Two tops? Don't get me wrong Depaul flat out sucked tonight.Imagine the selection show was tomorrow. For me it would be hard to see how a such a lopsided loss to another bubble team, wouldn’t leave them on the outside looking in.
Not really, no defense, slow getting back had many shots blocked.Aneesah Morrow showed up. The rest of the team, not so much.
It's literally the last game of the season though. Why not let your best player finish out her NCAA tournament experience, especially when she's the only player with a pulse on her team.Morrow padding her stats down 33 with 2 minutes to go. I don't think anyone believe she played a perfect game but she definitely showed up. If 28 and 17 isn't showing up then I don't know what is. If I remember correctly she scored all 12 of DePaul's points in the 3rd quarter. Many of her teammates had some negative body language in the 2nd half but Morrow never quit and I find that admirable, especially for a freshman. Not really, no defense, slow getting back had many shots blocked.
