Uconn had between a 3-5 point lead most of the night. then with about 5 minutes left IU made a push to go up 5. the team was pumped and the crowd was incredibly loud.
Uconn could have easily let the lead grow.

Instead, they buckled down, and I think took the lead back not too much later.
This wasn't a picture perfect win, but IU is a good tourney team and there were lots of positives to take away; all pointing to this teams character and desire to win.

my daughter was, but not me

I told her to chill, it's Bazz time.

he then scores 4 points in 8 seconds to put us back in the lead. (DD scored the 1st 2)

his next two hoops regained the lead both times (his last 3 hoops came with us trailing and gave us the lead)

Bazz had 8 and DD 5 of our last 13 points, the only points we scored after falling behind 51-46

Actually I wasn't we have Bazz. Felt the same with Kemba, Rip and Rashard.

Funny I wasn't "nervous".......didn't think a loss would hurt this team all that much actually may help but I was concerned about whether they could come back from that 5 point deficit for sure, or were capable, Shabazz made it happen along with a huge 3 from Deandre and a steal from Tyler. Hard fought W, not a bad thing at all! Winning ugly tends to become habit when needed!

I thought the game was winnable at that point. But I knew we needed to turn up our defense. It was definitely doable.

Yep, I was nervous. The whole momentum of the game had changed and was accelerating in a bad direction. Great to see Bazz still has "it" when it comes to crunch time. Also nice to see some of the older players focusing in and finally making some plays in the game. These are the wins that help the team stay focused and poised when they face them later in the year. This was a big win in that we came back after getting down.

Yes, I was so nervous and dispirited that I didn't ignore by mother in law calling me down to dinner, and meekly sat down and settled in for one of those, 'Uconn lost' dinners (the worst).

The glass of wine did nada for me, just gave me a headache.

After dinner, I went to read some stories with my daughter in the living room and got a text from my brother (who is a Clemson fan) that said, 'Nice win."

I'm kinda disappointed in myself for not sticking it out and actually being good and proper, but I just can't take it sometimes.

I obviously was not certain that we were going to win at the point, however that is when the team thrived the most last year, was when it was close or they were behind. The same was true in 2011. I am not sure about why, but I feel that it is a mentally tough team, that will be in every single game, there will be no runaways against them.

I was more than worried. I was disgusted and signed up for Creane 's summer charity bike ride and ordered a bunch of IU sweaters and jerseys.

What worried me was the crowd sounding like an IU crowd. As for the end of the game come back and win how much of it was Ollie excelling at coaching and Crean blowing it?

Chill, it's Bazz time. I love it. It's reminiscent of KEA's "winning time." Mind if I borrow it for my avatar caption?

I wasn't as nervous since we were up most of the night. I was nervous when Boatright tried to take over the game and made couple of questionable shots. I felt better when the ball was in Shabazz's hand towards the end of the game. MSG is our house and we won despite most of our team shot poorly the entire night.

Daniels' shot was also "money". He impressed me with that and hitting the 2 late FT's. I was thinking IU was going to get a very impractical win............but your vets came through. Oleander's steal was sweet, also. No one saw that coming, lol!

That was a really solid win. Well done!

Who's Rashard? Don't remember UConn ever having a Rashard.
Rashard Lewis perhaps who played with Ray Ray in Seattle before going to Orlando before playing with Mr. Shuttlesworth again in Miami ? Or maybe Rashad Anderson?

How things have gone this year, I would have been more nervous if UConn had been up by 5.
That said, Shabazz can’t save us every night. Others need to step-up. Daniels was way to quiet. Does not seem to like physical play and IU was very physical. Orlander stepped-up though. Brimah will be good; but, he has a lot to learn and needs to bulk-up.

I think we all would like to see our guys "bulk up" but we need to throw that thought out. It's a misnomer to think they can't rebound even at the size they are. The only problem every one of them have they are never in position to rebound. It's foot work after you guard to beat people to position and just the fundamentals of rebounding they lack besides the obvious strength. I say it all the time, hit your guy first and you win if the ball comes your way. Plus if anyone does notice we have a lot of "one hand" rebounds our guys never secure.......get 2 feet planted and go up with 2 hands and you'll get rebounds or get fouled more often!
