The link to the chat room is at the bottom right of your screen.

If you use the chat roiom, then folks like me who miss a lot of games because of conflicts cannot read about it afterwards...unless something has changed?

Apparently folks would rather not use the chat

i like the chat much better. during men's games i've seen as many as 40 people in there. its so much better than posting in threads, but for some reason, we can't get traction on the women's side.

By the way, the issue about maintaining an archive for latecomers isn't an insurmountable problem if you use the chat. As long as someone gets there early and stays in it for the duration, you can copy the text and paste it somewhere. For instance, this snippet of chat that I copy/pasted early from today's chat:

I believe there is a way to use it on the ipad and the iphone - if it works, I'll report back.

I'm one of the people who likes on-forum game threads. Because I'm out of state, busy, and unable to justify paying for Hoopstreams just for myself, I easily lose track of the schedule. I often don't even remember there was a game until I see the thread up on the board.
I feel like moving the game conversations into a venue where there's no archive for people to read afterwards would make it more difficult for people like me to keep in touch with what's going on. I'm lucky that I can usually catch nationally broadcast games (also thanks to the reminders on this board).

EDIT: In short, if game discussion is moved into chat, I would really appreciate it if someone could copy/paste the discussion into a forum thread afterward so that the latecomers and such can read it. As has already been suggested.

Kind of a good news/bad news update.

I've actually found a way to get the chat room on an iPad. That's the good news.

The bad news is that the chat has always had a serious flaw in that the 'pop out' feature of the chat room has never actually worked. Because of that, the onscreen keyboard in the ipad covers over the entire chat room...so you can read or you can type, but you can't do both.

I'll keep looking for a better option.

On a related note, I am amazed how many people are using iPads as their sole computers these days.

I use mine 80% of the time.
