Dude it is what it is. You work for the corporation that gutted the Big East for profit and to maintain its monopoly on cable sports. That's fine they are entitled to do it but it must be hard to be a Husky fan and work for a company that screwed over UConn and threatens the considerable investment that the university made in making the tradition to 1A/BCS. For those of us who are not drawing a paycheck, however, there is no conflict. ESPN is a Connecticut corporation who completely screwed over our university. Each of us should be a vocal as possible to be sure no more Connecticut dollars support an in-state corporation who doesn't give a damn about the viability of our university and who, according to the BC AD DeFillipo, was calling the shots on the evisceration of our conference. It is unforgivable.

Uh, like a quote from a memeber of the ACC expansion committee, saying that ESPN told them what to do? Kind of hard to misinterpret that don't you think?

ESPN made a business decision that they'd rather destroy the Big East than let NBCsports get a foothold. That anti-competitive practice ought to be investigated. ESPN has a monopoly and it abused that power and did so knowing that its actions would place Connecticut's athletics in jeopardy. Every Connecticut resident and fan ought to realize that that disregard has cost this state a huge sum of money to the point that big time football may not be sustainable and the state's investment in may not be recoverable. Each of us needs to be aware of that the next time EPSN comes begging for money and contact our reps to let them know that any accommodation to ESPN is unacceptable. Same with any zoning application, etc. They didn't give a crap about Connecticut. That's fine, but New Englanders have long memories.

Putz (no fruckin' Putz)! He's reigning over the demise of the BE and he's calling it a little more difficult job. He's trying to keep the BE name! Good luck with that. The Catholics can't keep the religious theme for obvious reasons and will likely take the BE name and MSG with them. But he tried - really hard - he really did. Fruckin Putz. It wouldn't surprise me if he stayed with the C7 and took the BE with him.
