Looking at the roster I am having an easier time time trying to figure out who won't be backing up Diggs. The Dog LB in Diaco's 3-4 has got to have the speed for pass coverage and the strength for pass rushing.

I like what I'm hearing about Diggs so far ... just curious who will be backing him up.

Nazir Williams. 6-2, 255 lbs, WR in high school. I think kid has huge potential.
I like the call on Nazir Williams. I could be misremembering old tape, but I think Chris Britton showed some speed in high school. And perhaps this is way off the mark, but maybe Freeborn or Parker? I think Diggs and Williams could be one and two.

I thought of Williams ... but at his weight it looks like he is being groomed to succeed Carrezola and Stapleton at the CAT LB. Imagine the speed coming off the edge!

Britton would be my best guess if he had the speed and agility for slot receivers and third down backs.

Yea my thought is that he was a WR(and a good one) in HS, and Diggs spot is all about athleticism. Whether he's 230 or 255, whoever has the best movement skills/coverage skills will be there.

I miss Sio Moore so much. lol.

This.

I am not as optimistic as many regarding our play at LB. I thought both Vann and Stewart were ripe for the picking last year, and no one appeared to press them for playing time. We have not seen LB play anywhere near the level we had with Sio, Yawin, Lutrus, Wilson.......I could go on.

Okay - to be honest - yes, the play level last year wasn't on par with the prior generation. I am hopeful a couple new bodies will generate new magic. Levenberry, Diggs + surprise from the stable coupled with Walsh/Joseph/etc.

A lot of possibilities after a lot of good looking recruits have come in the past two rotations.

I agree. Junior Joseph was the only guy who really impressed last year and he had issues in pass coverage.

I think we're stacked at LB right now. ..

Imo, the jury's still out on 2 starting spots. Junior Joseph will have one. Levenberry, Naz Williams, W Richardson, Freeborn, will all push the vets for a 2 deep spot.

And least we forget Stapleton, Carrezola & Parker maybe lining up at OLB i certain defensive fronts.

DEEEEEEP
