Yesterday Paige showed up at her hometown Minnesota Twins baseball game where she threw out the ceremonial 1st pitch. To her credit, she threw the pitch from the actual mound off the rubber and nailed the catcher’s mitt with a strike. Carl Lewis, Stephen A. Smith and several others who have humiliated themselves through the years, trying to do the same thing, were in awe. :)

Reportedly, the Twins, who are clinging to a wildcard spot for the AL playoffs, have enquired about Paige’s availability as a late season addition to their starting rotation….. ;)

I think that I would rather see Paige as a closer. The reception that she would get when her walk out music starts would be out of this world. I would suggest (sorry Hokie fans) Metallica's "Enter Sandman."

Ah, things that a fan comes up with when their sleep time has failed open...

You do know that “Enter Sandman” was the music used at Yankee Stadium when Mariano Rivera walked in from the bullpen. It might be a bit presumptuous for Paige to use the same music as the greatest closer in baseball history. Then again, she is Paige Bueckers…….

And in no way was my post anything close to reality. :)
I did not know that about Mariano because I have never been to a Yankees game.

Contract negotiations have begun. She's been holding back the knuckle-curve.

Pretty amazing that you picked that song out of any other song yet that's the song The Yankees used for the greatest closer in history to enter upon.

Very well done!!! :)

Basically I picked it because years ago I was going to the Virginia Tech Large Animal Hospital on an autumn Saturday afternoon and I heard it coming from the football stadium. Since then it seems whenever the Hokies are at home and on ESPN, ACCN, etc they will broadcast the team's entrance onto the field due to the song.
I also noticed this season that they do the same thing at the WBB games.

But thank you @hoophuskee

The Sandman is now a pretty common sports meme, as in “putting an opponent to sleep.” Most recently we all witnessed it during USA MBB’s gold medal game vs France when Steph Curry put the French to sleep by draining 4 consecutive 3’s down the stretch.

If Bueckers were able to pick another sport it would be football and IMO she would play QB. This is from an old 20 questions video she did with Fudd. Fudd wasn't sure when asked that but Bueckers didn't hesitate. Football. It reflects her pass-the-ball attitude. Those long passes that drop into her teammates hands in stride are her touchdowns. There are some who wish she would run with ball more but she knows where her talent lies.

Just when i was impressed by PB’s pitching prowess you had to bring up Hokie football Saturdays which my wife and i learned to avoid when visiting my son who was doing his PhD in wildlife ecology at VTech when they were a national football power.
