Another Poll: UCONN White vs UCONN Blue

Ok, after our fun with the NC teams (well I had fun anyway), I had another idea. Just create a couple teams from the players. Pick up basketball if you will. Now I didn't pick these teams, the captains did, you can blame them (if you can figure out who they were ). Only went 8 deep, cause everybody knows Geno shortens his bench.

All players are in their prime, whatever year that was (pre-injury or post injury whichever is best). Tried to give each team 3 "guards", 3 "forwards" and 2 "posts". But you can mix and match as you desire. No distinction between white and blue. Should be fairly even teams, overall. Figure out your own starting lineups.

I know Blue has Taurasi and Moore, but White has Bird and Charles and more height. Blue is probably more athletic.

Tough decision but have to go with the Blue team since DT is on it. Also taking into consideration players on both teams are completely healthy.

If I could take Tamika Williams rather than Swin on Blue, I would probably pick Blue in a squeaker.

Otherwise I'm sort of on the fence here.....

I'm giving it to White. They'll be able to get what they want inside or give it to KML and Sales outside.

Sorry, Kib. There's one other Husky who matches DT's steely resolve, and Sue's on the White team.

White: Bird, Sveta, Kesha, Lobo, Charles FOB: KML or Steph depending if you need offense or defense
Blue: DT, Shea, Moore, Jones, Big Girl FOB: Cash or Monty depending on whether you're getting inside

Up & down the floor we go. Despite the defensive skills, a very hi-scoring game, full of sharpshooters & hugely-skilled inside players. But both our double-double leaders are on the White, as well as our single-game scoring leaders. And, since it's a pick-up game, we don't consider high-level teamwork as much as individual skills.

This is easy: White. For two reasons, one negative one positive. And my first instinct is to pick whatever team Taurasi was on. But White has the best two point guards. And Blue has Wolters who would probably shy away from the challenge, again.

That is the greatest compilation of talent in WCBB from any single team and it's not even close. It's amazing the talent Geno has gotten and developed when you look at it that way in a set of lists. Just amazing...

Sorry, Kib. There's one other Husky who matches DT's steely resolve, and Sue's on the White team.

Sue may match Diana's steely resolve and she is the best PG in the world, but Diana is the greatest player. Ever. I know it because I have not only seen it but I have heard Geno say it. Diana is simply Beyond Category.

While I love and respect each and every one of these women (platonically of course), DT, MM, and Shea are three of the toughest Huskies ever. The white team has Sue and Jen in that category so it's 3 against 2 and one of them is DT. How do you pick against DT in any big game? You don't.........if your smart.

For Meyers teams - in basketball we've seen the impact how one player has on a game. DT in 02-03 and 03-04. When she left- UCONN was Sweet 16 that was it the very next year. One player means a lot. UCONN Blue has the 2 best players ever to wear a UCONN uniform. IMO

For Alex's- I give edge to Team Blue. There is only one pg for Team White. The college game seems to be controlled mostly by guards.

I went with DT and Maya immediately but after carefully checking out the teams I am not so sure. I think that KML gives the white the slightest edge. They have a lot of firepower and better post play.

Definitely blue! To be fair I would think you have to separate Diana and Maya. I think the best two players in our great history by a decent margin.

Well there you have it folks. Blue wins 59% to 41%. DT and Moore on the same team just too much for Bird/Lobo/Charles. Good game though, and what wouldn't we pay to actually see it.

I'll work on another one, although vowel has a nice poll right now.
