From the UConn site:

Mikayla: "Also considered ... Stanford." "Has been an honor roll student all three of her high school years."

Lexi: "Entered her senior year with a 3.8 grade point average and ranked in the top 15 percent of her class."

Andi: "Also considered Duke."

Megan: "Is a member of Monacan's academic honor roll and owned a 3.65 grade point average entering her senior year."

These young women are impressive on and off the court.

And all four are sufficiently erudite to want to become active participants in the exciting, swirling social life that characterizes the sophisticated and vibrant community of Storrs, Connecticut.

Young lady ballers now know there is a good chance at a pro career. Going to schools with elite academics to have something to fall back on after their college careers are over is no longer a must. This dynamic favors a program like Uconn, a school that will best prepare you for a pro career, even though academically is not on the level of a Stanford or Dukes of the world. Even though Uconn has made great leaps academically in recent years.
