Another coach to staff?

Will UConn add another coach? If yes, DL? ST? If not, anyone have any legit insights on how DL and ST responsibilities may be allocated among the new staff members?

One would think, unless they make the DC coach the DL too. Kind of how they made the OC the QB coach too - I think that's how they were able to up their salaries to $350K. Maybe the WR or CB coach will do specials, but I would think they have to get someone to focus exclusively on specials.

I can't see them not hiring a 9th assistant.

I thought UConn would but now not so much. The defensive coordinator can coach the defensive line and special teams can be taken upon by Cox as he has done that before.
I wouldn't mine another coach but I don't think it is necessary

I have no doubt that we intend to fill the last vacancy. The Board has rumors of at least one person for the job. I would assume someone either turned down an offer or is sitting on it for a bit.

But it will be filled by spring practice.

I hope they hire the 9th assistant coach, especially when you considered everyone will be getting a 10th assistant soon.

I wish that we would hire a couple analysts too like the big boys do. They are about 50-100k each, and I believe Bama has 11 of them.

Wishful thinking, of course, but it would help scouting, recruiting, and practice assessments.
