Nice. Maybe if Ray, Okafor, Gay, etc and all the other multi-millionaires in the NBA start doing what is right, the facility will be paid for and construction can start.
So we are up to $5.5M now. Anyone recall the total cost estimate?
who says they aren't the 2 anonymous donors?Nice. Maybe if Ray, Okafor, Gay, etc and all the other multi-millionaires in the NBA start doing what is right, the facility will be paid for and construction can start.

Jim Calhoun has said this line of thinking is absurd, and I agree with him.
Hey, the donations so far now skew towards the MBB side, and would even more so in your scenario where you start spending other peoples' money. Any WBB donors planning on helping out now? Any? Or is the men's program going to carry all the water here?
zls, as much as I agree that we have no knowledge about what any former athletes have given, men OR women, your comment is absurd since the means of male and female athletes ability to give is incredibly unequal. many of Calhoun's past comments regarding this are nonsense. Every athlete male and female should be approached to give the same as every alumni. Plus since there are numerous anonymous donors you have no possible knowledge of the ratio of men's vs women's program supporters. While I agree speedoo's comment is unfair and wrong, so is yours.Jim Calhoun has said this line of thinking is absurd, and I agree with him.

Werth isnt a former player...
Ray, Okafor, Rip or whoevever else was mentioned was compared to Werth (as if he's a former player) when saying the women's side hasnt chipped in.And? His comment was clearly referencing the fact that if any former players gave money from the Men's side, that would continue to skew donations from MBB donors as opposed to WBB. Seeing that we have ZERO current knowledge of any former players on either side donating, his comment that all donations have been skewed to the men's side can only be a reference to donations we have discussed earlier all being from MBB fans/donors.
It was wrong. So were you. Such is life.
I'm in for a hundy. Possibly a bit more if we can get some momentum on this.zls, as much as I agree that we have no knowledge about what any former athletes have given, men OR women, your comment is absurd since the means of male and female athletes ability to give is incredibly unequal. many of Calhoun's past comments regarding this are nonsense. Now once again I offer $50 dollars to start a Boneyard gift to support the project. I'm a rural parish pastor and I'm not an alum, but I am willing to help make a start towards this facility small as it is. Want to join me, zls and speedoo, anyone else? Anyone else want to be part of organizing this and help to take action instead of quibbling and dividing UConn fans into we and they?
well saidIf there is 16 million in hand, equal would be 8 million from the men's and women's programs if the funds were supposed to be raised mutually. The minimum attributable to gifts from the distaff fans is 4.5 million from the Werth's through the contact and conversation with Geno. Just as it is foolish to designate the Werth's gifts only to the women's side it is stupid to attribute funds through, generally, men's fans all to the men's program. It is UCONN basketball and not a competition. It is all Husky pride.
