That is insanely bad. 33,000 for Ohio State and 20,000 for Michigan State. We were above the Rent’s standard capacity for a far inferior Michigan team.

I think it is fair to say, this answers the question as to why we will persist with football. We are actually attending games against AAC opponents at a similar clip as Rutgers fans attend B1G games.

Teams need to win to draw fans in the northeast. I’m not a Rutgers basher, I loved playing them. However, you can see that a bunch of New Jersey sports fans aren’t paying to see crap. They can just go see one of many teams that are good and entertaining in their region rather than be saddened by watching Rutgers drown. We just don’t have the loyalty to the big state U’s that people in the Midwest and south do. We truly have too many options/distractions to create that kind of brand loyalty when the teams are terrible.
