looks like a Ater Majok out there. Lost, Soft, his jumper is ugly, no effective post moves, Can't hit a free throw. He needs 2 more years worth of work before he should make the jump to the nba imo.

NBA will draft on potential, so he'll probably be a high draft selection-AKA Thabeet.

If he wants to have a long NBA career, and not just make a quick few million $$, he"ll stick around. It really comes from within because he"ll be drafted and paid one way or another.

I'm tired of the raw, high potential post guys. Can we just find a guy that can ball from day one? Unfortunately, we will likely never see ADs potential materialize in a Husky uniform.

Did you really need to bring up Majok? :(
This board's emoticons suck BTW.

I think he becomes a bench warmer in the NBA.

Hate to say it, because it sounds harsh, but the kid is soft. He literally needs to have some bully knock him to the ground and piss on him so that he can find a little fire. He really seems like he's playing Nintendo out there or something.

He plays hard, he's just soft. Hopefully with some added bulk he will become more agressive, but more concerning is his lack of fire. Again, the kid plays hard, but he doesn't have that " you" edge that a kid like Boatright seems to have. You know it when you see it, and Drummond does not have it, at least not right now.

For example, when Drummond knocks a kid down you will generally see him help the kid up. He's a great kid, but sometimes that can work against you. Dwight Howard is a great kid too. Guess what his biggest flaw is? Just that. You don't get places in life by being nice.

Agree. He could mask a lot of these issues if he just played hard. He doesn't.

The Majok comparison is wildly offbase but I do agree with you about the playing hard bit. When you watch the effort that Anthony Davis plays with at UK you wonder what kind of impact and numbers Drummond could put up if he played like that.

Let him leave....we need to go back to the hardcore days when we recruited players like Freeman, Selvie, Adrian....guys that really had to work hard to even get peek by the NBA scouts not players that use us as a stepping stone for the NBA and are guaranteed millions without effort.

I'm not sure the OP was comparing Drummond to Majok in terms of talent/productivity. He was simply pointing out that Drummond sometimes looks lost out there, like he doesn't know what to do with his gifts.

Regardless of what everyone says our two freshman are the best offensive players on the team right now. Not sure what that means or says about us though.

ONE GAME!?!? FRESHMAN YEAR?!? THATS HOW YOU'RE GOING TO JUDGE HIM? You guys need some perspective, players get better with time especially those equipt with physical gifts. He is a project and mentally aint there yet, but whose to say what he is in 3 years?

Boat I agree with, but AD not so much. I prefer many options before AD. Too bad though, because he can dunk like a mofo.

It means that Jeremy, Shabazz and Alex have all reverted big time.

Drummond needs to be taught to box out. Shot goes up and he turns and looks while his man slips by him into position to rebound. Happens time after time. No box out, sit the bench for 2 minutes, see how long it takes. The whole team was pathetic on the boards tonight. Ville was getting the offensive board with one on three odds all second half.

You know there is a problem when Kuric has as many boards as our bigs. Haven't checked the box score, but it sure seemed that way.

Thats what happens when you play against 6-4 guys at the prep level. You don't need to box out. He is in the big leagues now.

drummond specifically has no idea how to rebound, but thats a skill that can be learned over time. Unfortunately, i dont think it will be in a husky uniform.

He won't be here in 3 years or 1 year. Projected to be a top 10 pick in pcoming NBA draft. Again, it's potential ability for the NBA if you're a physical specimen like AD.
