Apparently all the hoopla in 2000 had some merit!!
An the fan from every WBB College team thought Geno nutz when he said (numerous times) We have Diana and they don't!----
It would appear Diana was every bit as good as she thought she was--Confidence!!!!! Coaching with DT is easy: Put the team on her back and say ---go WIN!!

Sometimes I wonder, who could replace Geno when the time comes? Is DT the one?
This thought comes up on occasion - will DT, or Sue Bird, or ____ replace Geno - and, almost without fail, the former players mentioned have no coaching experience at all. You just can't do that with a program as big and successful as UConn. There's so much involved that has absolutely nothing to do with playing ability or even on-floor leadership. Even the "knowledge base" is incomplete, because teaching a skill is different than executing a skill.

This is not to say that a great player can't become a great coach - but, there's a development process, an evolution that needs to take place. Playing and coaching are different skill sets.

I don't think so, but I do think she will have a long successful career as an on air personality, if she wants it.

Outstanding career, but D is ice cold to start this season. .212 from the floor and .222 behind the arc thru 3 games. Yikes!

When she does it will be celebrated but until then Dee deserves everything she gets!

Yes this did go announced but let DT get a flagrant foul and I bet people would be talking about pitch forks and torches and the people she concussed 15 years ago.

I think this was the last time DT responded to Duke fans!

Don't agree, huskeynut. Breanna already passed her for most championships in college, and Maya will certainly pass her in championships in the WNBA and almost every statistical category.

Look at Diana's first year and the loaded team she played on, and they couldn't get it done. Look at Maya's last year, and the semi final game in which she scored 36 points and got very little help. Freshman Bria Hartley was the second leading scorer, while Tiffany Hayes pulled a disappearing act with 4 points, 2 on a layup in the last minute of the game. Diana was first, but that doesn't necessarily make her the best.

Really? It's all her fault we lost the 2001 NC? We lost Svet and Shea to injury and neither of them played in the Final Four. With both of them healthy we could have walked backward to St. Louis and won it that year. Stewart managed to win it all four of her years but never had to deal with two key starters out injured during the Final Four. Perhaps if that had happened during her freshman year things would have been different.

You must have forgotten when Breanna hurt her ankle in the finals and was not herself the rest of the game or when Morgan got hurt her sophomore year and missed almost all of it or the thin bench UConn had during her last two years.
