We have a lot of players who are going to start practice thinking they're good enough to start. Frankly, everyone on the team save Adams, Springs and Javonte Brown Ferguson probably thinks they should be starting. Hurley has his work cut out for him figuring out what combinations and allocation of minutes make us best. But guys like Polley aren't just going to step aside for freshman and transfers.

And even if we don't think so on this board, Adams believes he should be too. And it's at least crossed Hurley's mind as well from his comments

In basketball, it's much more important who is on the court with two minutes left rather than who spends the first two minutes on the court.
Yeah logically, but players love to jump off the bench when they hear their name from the announcer at the beginning of the game. Beyond that (and perhaps ego) its the end of the game that matters, or tight situations.

Tyler Olander may beg to differ, but your point is an accurate one

Tyler will start for us to begin the year. Just such an elite shooter, and as we saw before he got hurt he can defend and rebound as well. Is it November yet??
I'm looking forward to see what he can do
In all fairness, it wasn't until the last game and a half that he showed a desire to hit the boards and mix it up somewhat
Just hoping that he isn't shy because of the injury (which is natural) because he can't afford it with a bunch of hungry Huskies wanting those minutes
I wish him the best - a good Polley makes the team that much better
