That picture is a small sample, but wouldn't that offensive formation be considered a "spread offense"? Regardless, I like it.

Just great. The first day of practice and you guys spilled the beans about our new offense.

You know Randy has staff surfing these boards. :D

Seriously can we lift this ridiculous ban on blogging and tweeting during practice? What is the point of that rule?

Whoever took this picture is in some deep dog spit.

LOL, I'm sure Towson is watching last year's Cincy Belk Bowl to prepare for our offense. Its not a secret that we have a new OC.

The great thing about Weist's offense is that receivers are supposed to adjust their routes based on the defense that is thrown at them, so in a sense it doesn't matter if they are familiar with how we are lined up.

I don't know about anyone else but today feels extra special. The air is cleaner, food tastes better, women look prettier and my tolerance level around the house is so much higher.

It has been a long time coming, as it always does, but today opens the college football season for me.

I promise to take it one game at a time, provide a positive outlook and most importantly STAY IN THE MOMENT.

This season will be over so fast that it's vital to soak up every minute. CR means nothing to me right now as nothing appears iminent and the future is far, far away.

Here's to a great season.

OK were the official uconn twitter vine posts videos or pics? they didn't play as videos even when I opened them in a new window.

Anyway, great to have this stuff on twitter instead of having to wait for a dead tree the next day or the 11PM news. I think the yarders can help out though - retweet some of those bad boys, it helps UConn's visibility!

I'm with Sportsart, very excited for the season.

Great job by UConn with all the vine videos and pics posted today.

Regarding McCummings, I hate to be a hard-ass but how do you gain 33 pounds since last year when you're a collegiate D1 athlete. He should be embarrassed. He shouldn't be allowed on the field until he sheds at least 15 pounds. Talk about not taking a great opportunity seriously. It's almost like he tried to eat his way out of playing a different position than QB. Here's hoping the kid is serious of wanting to play in front of 40k live (I know optimistic) and works his tail off for the next four weeks.

I think there is something more to be learned about Scott M and his thought process this past off season.

They bring in 3 QB's and a new OC that probably pulled the plug on the wildcat early on. He has to be thinking WTF.

Maybe he was stressed and ate too much. Maybe he thought he had a better shot at TE and put the weight on for that position. Somewhere along the line he probably realized he can't block and WR was where they told him to focus.

I'd be shocked if Des does not have a story this summer on his boy Scott and we'll learn more.

Freshman TE Tommy Myers (Coventry) and FB Matt Walsh (Hand) looked terrific on Day 1 - both very tough kids #UConnFootball

For the love of god. Don't believe a word out of Des's mouth. I pray that he is right...we need those kids to be huge for us. But this writer is still in love with his boyfriend Mccummings.

Even watching the baseball highlights was better today now that football has started. I'm really excited for this season because there is opportunity there for us to show folks that UConn football is not an afterthought but here to stay. You get the feeling that Tim Willman is the real deal and we all forget about Andreas. When PP started we had problems with depth at skill positions on offense and you can't say that now. We've got a high energy guy at OC and a team that wants a Bowl game after 2 years of falling short. Plus we've got 7 home games. Here we go!
