The more I see Caitlin Clark play this year the more this season reminds me of Bird's 1979 Indiana State season. Clark has very similar attributes to Bird at similar times including making shots from literally anywhere on the court to being a great facilitator. Obviously there's also the midwestern connection and playing against more athletic physical teams and pulling off upsets.
I'm sure the Iowa and LSU title game will get a very high viewership mainly because of the Clark Factor. And also Mulkey and the star players on LSU. It will be interesting to see what happens in this game and going forward. If Clark continues to be the best player in women's basketball, people might look back at this Final Four as a historic event for Clark and the sport, just like Bird's magical 1979 Final Four season.
