Syracuse was playing really chippy (probably too kind a word) in that game and Q was doing nothing to control Ward and Michael. In response instead of playing Q's game, Auriemma unleashed Maya Moore and UConn absolutely destroyed Syracuse in the 2nd half.

This was the "tripgate" game.

I had forgotten how much some teams would lounge their way out of the backcourt before the 10 second rule. I'm quite satisfied with that rule change.

Indeed it was and a persistent story is that deep into the second half Geno called a timeout with UConn up by like 36. Geno: “What do you wanna do ?” Maya: “I wanna beat ‘em by 50.” Geno: “Then go do it.”
