If Imani said this in the presser I missed it:

Connecticut senior forward Breanna Stewart is averaging 20.3 points per game in the tournament. Texas senior center Imani Boyette said she can’t stop Stewart on her own.

“I don’t think there’s anything I can do that’s going to change her game,” Boyette said. “I think it’s going to be a team effort on the defensive end.”

It is true that Stewie is both far quicker and has much greater range. The team effort is going to produce opportunities for Morgan and Gabby and maybe Lou.

Yes it was in the pregame press conference - I thought Imani said some really good things and this was one of them. She stressed team in most of her answers.

Stewie just unloaded on the Horns last year. I think she'll come into Harbor Yard with a laser focus after the upsets of Stanford and Tennessee. The Huskies are fortunate to have cautionary tales of upsets in the tournament, and they just keep getting more. I also think Moriah loves playing Texas. Morgan, meanwhile, ran some highlight reel plays on Imani last year in Albany, even while giving up five inches to her.

I love my alma mater and would love to see Texas get back into the thick of things in terms of contending for NCs, but I really want Stewie and Mo to go out on top. I believe they're ready.

I think your Alma Mater is on the right road with a good coach who is getting good recruits. 4 years into rebuilding they are doing very nicely.

Let's get Katie Lou in a shooting groove to prepare for Baylor. Next Sunday should be the toughest game of the tourney.
Watching Syracuse beat Tennessee by raining threes on them, my thoughts were this is the kind of team that might give UConn trouble. If Syracuse gets hot, or should I say stays hot, shooting, UConn might be up against a team that can keep up with them in scoring. It might be interesting.

How ironic would it be for Stewie to play her last possible game (the national championship) against her 'home' team who she spent time with in her youth, yet rejected UCONN's request for a game this season.

This is the classic nightmare - Syracuse shoots under 30% from three on the year even including this game. They did it against a less than dominant team, but its like the Louisville game against Baylor, or that game in an elite eight years ago against a midwest team that Uconn lost.

Not my alma mater , but I agree with the rest of what you said. :)

Perhaps yes. Then again, perhaps no and more of the same suck for all else. Let's just concentrate on this one.

I can't quite figure out why everyone is assuming Baylor will even get to the FF. I said a few weeks ago that I wasn't buying the Pac-12 just yet, but I'm sold now. If Weisner and Wiese hit their 3's and Hamblin can just hold her own this game is a toss up. And an Oregon St. win wouldn't be anywhere near as surprising as the Louisville win over the Griner/Simms team. Plus, I'm still not convinced that Baylor is as good as many believe. Their schedule was soft and the handful of good teams they've played were generally closely contested games.
