The Atlantis Resort has numerous water rides and slides, including the "Leap of Faith," a six-story free fall in which the jumper hits speeds of 37 MPH, or more. Roscoe Smith had an interesting experience on it this week and, well, let Shabazz Napier tell it:
"The leap of faith, which Roscoe Smith did," Napier said at the press conference Tuesday, "…most of the managers did it, our athletic trainer did it. I guess you’re supposed to keep your legs crossed going down, and he had his legs open, so he was doomed from the start. He went down, all the water in his face. When he gets down there, mind you, it’s three feet, it looks like he’s about to drown, he’s screaming for help. The lifeguard was just like ‘really?’"
Jim Calhoun added, "I was told you could hear the screams from far away."
