Calhoun averaged 25.7 points for Christ the King last season and was New York's Gatorade player of the year. He committed to UConn in June of 2011 and, through all the tribulations, from postseason ineligibility to a coaching change, he never wavered, reporting for classes in June of 2012. If he will not have the chance to play in the Big East or NCAA tournaments as a freshman, Calhoun does have the chance to be the next great one, to follow the Taliek Brown, Kemba Walker route from New York City to star-status in Storrs.
