not to be a pessimist but ACC 7-10 isn't ideal, however its about where I expected. Good to see this is for American 3-6 which means it isn't going to be one of our top 2 bowls. I think this game could give us a lot of former Big East matchups like UConn/Syracuse or USF/Pitt

I would've worried if this was for American Athletic Conference #2 and ACC #8/9 or something like that. This works out fine for me quite honestly.

I'm happy we have a bowl within a drivable distance against a P5 opponent. Not the greatest set up, but we were never going to get a P5 3-5 team to play the American.

I would like to see us look into creating a similar bowl to the pinstripe bowl in NYC, only put it in Boston. Not sure if there is really a feasible way to have two bowls up in the New England area but we could ask for a lower tier Big Ten team (7-10 like the ACC) and American number 3-6. Also if we wanted, I'm sure Hartford could host one at Rentschler against a MAC or CUSA opponent. American #6/7 vs MAC #4/5.

Also if this league is serious about cementing itself as the top non "P5" conference, we need to set up two or three bowls vs the MWC. Get that game in Vegas vs an MWC team, look into a game in Texas vs an MWC team. MWC/AAC matchups would be very entertaining and provide us with an opportunity to increase our conference reputation and strength while playing realistic games that we can win.

Bowls need to be warm places. The Navy Bowl is a decent replacement for the Pinstripe.

The rest should be as weather and airline friendly as possible. Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Memphis, Dallas (Houston less so). I'd like to see New Orleans (not Shreveport) and Vegas.

If they are smart they'll pick dates/locations where the historic airfares from conference airports is less than $300.

This is a math problem as much as a football one.

This is a nice, easy bowl to get to. Weekend in DC. We will bring a lot of fans (or at least more than if it was in Arizona or El Paso, Texas.) We are playing a "BCS" conference. Not sure what is not to like here.

Agree it's an easy bowl to get to but it's being moved to Navy. Not a huge deal as Annapolis is a day drive with one night stay probably. Would have been nice if it stayed in DC but I'm glad to have a closer bowl.

It's 30 miles from the National Mall and the capacity of Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium is 35k and likely less costly to operate than RFK. Much more likely to look fuller than RFK which seats 46k and is pretty run-down.

Also only 30 miles from Baltimore so choices of where to set up camp depending on taste.

I like the small set up. Honestly most bowls should be played in arenas of that capacity, especially lower tier bowls to avoid embarassing empty sections.

If anyone hasn't been to Annapolis....its also a really cool/beautiful town. I would set up camp there between the three options (really wouldn't even consider DC). Plenty of pubs, restaraunts, shops, waterfront views, and history if thats your thing.

I am pretty pleased the AAC locked this one up.

couldn't agree more about the small setup. Outside of BCS games most bowl games should be played at stadiums with max of 40k. I went to the Belk Bowl in Charlotte last year for Duke/Cincy and they entire top tier was empty.

UCONN / Syracuse in this bowl would probably draw better than UCONN / Syracuse at the Rent.
