Hello to all-

I mostly stick to the football board on the BY but love watching the women play and am curious about the other conference mates we have in our league. Have we seen an uptick in their commitment to WBB since joining the same conference? It would seem as though USF and Tulane have competitive teams and I think teams like ECU, Houston, and SMU have the chance to become pretty solid down the road. Has there been an uptick in recruiting from these schools?

Was good to see UConn get a test @USF the other night. If a few more league teams can become competitive I think this league can become a lot of fun. Love seeing 6k+ at games on the road as well.

Thanks!

I do think there seems to be solid commitment to WCBB within the AAC and I think on the whole we have strong coaches. I think the rest of the league this year is showing itself to be more competitive in OOC games - it hasn't altered the W/L records in any major way, but it is making for more games that are in the balance in the fourth quarter. I don't see a significant change in recruiting, but that is a little harder to judge as by the time you get out to the back end of recruit rankings and unranked players which is where the teams are recruiting, comparisons come down to how they actually play in college.
USF has been building for quite a while and has built on foreign players as much as anything, and they have been in a league with Uconn longer than most of the others having going the BE a while ago.

Hello to all-
Has there been an uptick in recruiting from these schools?.
Not really. If you discount the UCONN, Louisville & Rutgers commits to account for the full life of this conference, the current remaining conference members have signed a total 0 top 50 & only 4 top 100 rated players since 2013. Kornelia Wright UCF , Natasha Mack Huston, Laura Ferreira USF & Alliya Butts Temple. By comparison at least two individual programs (Dayton & Creighton) that might be considered mid major have signed 3 & 4 top 100 players since 2013. So I don't think the rest of the conference has benefited from having UCONN in it any more than UCONN has benefitted from having conference schools in Texas.
