>>Published on Aug 16, 2016 --- UConn was particularly strong on defense last year, and that should not change in 2016 as the Huskies have six returning starters on that side. Cornerback Jamar Summers led The American with eight interceptions and is the player to watch in the secondary, while Junior Joseph and Luke Carrezola will be joined at linebacker by E.J. Levenberry, who was a member of Florida State’s national championship team in 2014.
The Huskies return 10 starters on offense, including Bryant Shirreffs, who enters his second year as the Huskies’ quarterback. Running back Arkeel Newsome, meanwhile, finished 2015 as The American’s leader in all-purpose yards, while tight ends Alec Bloom and Tommy Myers bring a combination of size and skill to the offense.
Aman Kidwai from SB Nations joins us to break down the Huskies.<<
