at the mental mistakes UConn made tonight. I would imagine Geno is also. Also, Baylor kept pushing UConn's offense further and further out when trying to set up a play.

Based on this game, UConn has two ready for prime time players: KML and Stef. The others are not quite there yet this season. I have doubt that Stewie is going to contribute much this year. For some reason she doesn't seem to be able to handle the speed of the game against the top teams. Impressed with Tuck and also MoJef. Thought they did a credible job.

Looking at tonights game it is hard to see UConn winning it all this year. Hopefully, they can get to the finals.

My thoughts exactly. I don't think they are as mentally tough as is Baylor. I think Baylor is going to drop off quite a bit next year because of the loss of Griner who allows the rest of the team to be overtly aggressive on defense and through whom the offense goes through.

The truth is that this year it was and still is Baylor's NC to lose. They impressed me in this game with the defense they played, the pressure they put on UConn and very nice execution on offence in finding the open player under the basket when UConn doubled and tripled down on Griner. The thing with Griner is that guarding her must be very tiring and she remains 6'8 regardless what you do so kudus to Stef who played with a lot of heart and did everything she could. Can’t ask for more from her.

KML was amazing and is an AA but it was clear that Baylor decided to take her out in the second half with tight defense and while MT was great, in order to win against Baylor you need Bria to be the Bria from last year together with this year’s KML and Stef.

Baylor is better, period. UConn is a helluva team, but I'm convinced that 3 games out of five, maybe 4, Baylor wins. I thought the turning point came maybe two minutes before the end of the first half. The ball came to Griner (who else?) and the UConn defense collapsed on her. Some one, I think it was Brooklyn Pope (and who the hell had the assignment of guarding Brooklyn Pope -- with 18 points !!-- last night, anyway?) slid in from the left with no one guarding her, got herself in perfect position for a gimme. Griner fed her the ball and sure enough, two points.

Tellingly, in the huddle afterward, Mulkey simply looked at Griner and slowly nodded her head. No need for words. This is what they set out to do and accomplished. You have to give the credit to them. I would have felt better about it without Griner's attempt at wrestling moves, but this game was Baylor's.
