Are the Spokane rims messed up?

The Oklahoma game: In th fitst half, everything rims out. Even a two foot jumper from Paige goes in and out. For Oklahoma, everything is sailing in.

Cut to the second half, teams switch rims. All of a sudden, Oklahoma can't hit anything, even layups rim out. Meanwhile, UCONN makes everything on the other side.

I think the rims should be investigated, especially considering last's years 3 point line debacle. But maybe it's just me.

Is this stuff actually checked by some governing group? I mean, I doubt they're breaking out a tape measure? Maybe they are?

Very tight rims, but didn't really notice the difference.

If Dee Kantner could have, she would have moved the baskets at halftime.
I hope we don't get her for any of UConn's remaining games. She always seems to miss a lot of fouls on the opposing team.

I think the floor was tilted. One team was always running up hill.

Back when he was a place-kicker for the Giants, Pat Summerall was convinced (and it was later proven) that the field at Yankee Stadium was tilted about 1 & 1/2 inches toward one end, and he always felt he had a psychological edge when kicking in that direction.

You are correct. It's not always the rims, but there is usually one side that is more difficult to score on in these arenas. Can be rims, can be TV monitors to the side of the arena, back lighting, etc. Happens almost every big venue game.

Reminds me of the rims when they played at Creighton in January. I can still hear the boom from each missed shot.

As you watch TV, the rims to the left were horribly tight. The rims on the right are fine. Look at UCONN's shooting stats in first half and LSU 's shooting stats in the first half. Changes the game. Just as an aside, that call in front of the LSU bench with the ref standing right there and giving the ball to UCLA when it was clearly off UCLA was emblematic of how bad the officiating was. That changed the game. Instead of it becoming a 2 point game it became 6 points. There was 2:30 or so left so they couldn't review it. Who decided on 2 minutes and not 3 or 3:30 for the review time? I just don't understand why the men's refs seem so much better. The NCAA is just this horribly frustrating organization that consistently has treated women's basketball inequitably with the men's game. This Super Regional idea is one of their worst ever and believe me, the bar is very high.

Thts true but she also missed a lot of calls on UConn too. As long as it called evenly I can't complain

On the other hand, I believe UConn is now 15-1 all-time in NCAA tourney games that Dee Kantner has reffed. That includes 7-0 in NCAA Championship games.

The same pattern held true in the USC/K-State game as well. And UConn as the road team will be shooting at the bad basket in the second half tonight.

This happens frequently in the men's game when they build new basketball courts in football stadiums. The 2023 Final Four was particularly bad.

shhhhh

Maybe they adjusted the rims for tonights games. I'm sure somebody of importance noticed that.

Did notice the disparity but that wasn’t the case in USC game. Same rims no disparity.

Watch a replay. I think there was a disparity, but that's just me.
