Looks like no AT for the Sun in 2021. She was a free agent this year coming off a career season... terrible news for her and the Sun.

I wonder if she would consider shoulder surgery while she's at it.

AT ON THE MEND
Forward Alyssa Thomas underwent successful surgery on Tuesday afternoon to repair a torn Achilles tendon
.

The reparative surgery was performed by Dr. Robert Anderson of Bellin Health Titletown Sports Medicine and Orthopedics in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Dr. Anderson also serves as an Associate Team Physician for the Green Bay Packers.

No timetable has been set for Thomas's return

This is maybe the worst injury for a basketball player. Brianna Stewart is one of the few players to successful recovered from it. Before this season, only one NBA player has ever recovered and had a successful NBA career after the surgery. That was Dominique Wilkins. So far Kevin Durant and John Wall seem to be doing well after their surgeries.

Medical science progresses, and I assume there's a good reason she chose to go all the way to Wisconsin for the procedure.

Connecticut Sun fans join Terp Nation in focusing all our best wishes and hopes on a full recovery for our Top Turtle.

I spent many hours at Comcast and watching her play for the Suns enjoying her skills, a true warrior. Yes, she was the GOAT. And I agree with the poster who said she should try to resolve her shoulder issues since she will be out awhile. Hoping for a full recovery.

Kelsey Plum hasn’t come back from hers yet, but it looks like she’s progressing nicely.

Tough news. She isn't my favorite player, but I admire her tenacity and toughness.
