Alternative Angst: Future Fretting

Why worry about the past? You can't change it without a time machine. Instead, I propose we worry about the immediate future which we may, in fact, be able to influence.

Remember the team that just took Louisville into overtime? Right - Pittsburgh. Anybody remember what happened the last time they came to Connecticut? They were a major pain in the ass the entire first half. Their coaches had done a great job scouting UConn and figuring out ways to cut off the Huskies' passing game, especially into the post.

I propose the unexpected but more productive use of our time in worrying about the Pittsburgh Panthers instead of Baylor or Notre Dame.

I love it. I just looked at the results on ESPN and my thought was Wow! ND just kicked Louiseville's ass.

Fretting is non productive. What is productive is to analyze the problem and take corrective action. I believe I have the answer for you.

Take note of where the deepest worn spots are. Those are the notes that you play most often. Now, what I'd suggest is that you use different notes. Guitars have lots of notes - use some of the others once in a while!

Sadly, I never learned to play up and down the fret board basicly playing for youth group retreats and such. A capo helps but...

What I have done is build several instrument kits from small harps to dulcimers to bowed psaltery. I hope to build a ukulele as a first step towards building a guitar someday. Once upon a time I dreamed of building a harpsichord kit. Unfortunately, I am more capable of building instruments more than playing them.
