I'm waiting for the 0-2 against UConn and 28-0 against the Field T-shirt that will come out after we beat them for a second time on Feb 25th. Well I hope we beat them twice, but I'd settle for 1-1 split.
I'd love to see us break their undefeated streak on Feb 11th when we face them at the Carrier Dome.
I posted over a month ago that SU had a good chance to remain undefeated until well into February because all their tough BE games are at home until they go to UL on Feb 13th. With the Cardinal's wheels seemingly popping off like that of the Panthers, their first real tough road test might not come until their 2nd to last BE game when they face UConn on Feb 25th.
Now I realize they have to play at ND on 1/21 and at UC on 1/23, but I think they'll take care of business in both games. Of the 6 teams that are right behind them in the BE standings, they will only play 3 of them on the road. They already beat Marquette, and will eventually face Cinci and UConn.
There's no doubt that the BE is not nearly as tough as it was last season. We all figured there would be a drop off with SJU, but I don't think we figured Pitt, Nova and UL would be as bad as they have been so far. There's time for UL to turn things back around, but they've looked real bad lately. As for Pitt & Nova, boy are those two teams just flat out bad. Maybe they'll find a way to get out of their downward spirals, but I just don't see it happening for either of them.
